1. Noggins Corner Farm
📍10009 Hwy #1, Greenwich, NS (near Wolfville)
Located in the Annapolis Valley, Noggins Corner Farm is the place to go in the fall. It’s known for its apple and pumpkin u-pick, but there are also plenty of other fun fall activities, making it one of the best spots in the Valley for a full day of family fun.
Stroll through the pumpkin patch, snap some family photos and hunt for the perfect pumpkin. There is no fee to wander through the fields, but when you find the perfect one, prices range from $3 for small pumpkins to $15 for extra-large ones.
Once you’ve visited the pumpkin patch, there’s also an 8-acre interactive corn maze to explore. Each year, there’s a different theme, with this year celebrating the Mi’kma’ki, with the maze designed to look like a petroglyph when seen from above.
Throughout the maze, there are activities and information story boards about the land’s original inhabitants and their culture. Find all the story boards to decipher the mystery word in the main maze, and try not to get lost while searching for them! It’s a large, intricate maze and took us over an hour to make our way through it.
This was honestly one of the best corn mazes I’ve seen. It was big enough that it was challenging for everyone in the family, but there were activities throughout to keep the kids engaged (and a map provided to help you find your way out…).
There’s also a mini maze, if you’re looking for a shorter corn maze adventure.
In addition to the corn maze, there’s also a barnyard play area to enjoy, with outdoor games, a ropes maze, and plenty of things to climb, from hay bales to ropes and tires.
There is an admission fee for the corn maze, which also includes entry to the barnyard play area. More info can be found here.
Dates: September 14 – October 31, 2024
Hours: Monday – Friday 10 am – 4 pm, Saturday & Sunday 10 am – 6 pm
Cost: $12 adults & children 5+
Other Great Farms in the Valley
If you’re heading to Noggins, there are a few other local farms nearby that are worth checking out.
We suggest is Stirling Farm Market, a small family farm with the best selection of pumpkins to choose from. Wander through the field and choose from small to large pumpkins, as well as orange, white and even green pumpkins. We’ve been here three years in a row, and their prices can’t be beat.
Also along the same road are Elderkin’s Farm Market and Hennigar’s Farm Market, both of which offer a variety of seasonal produce, including pumpkins and apples to pick.

Willowbank U-Pick Farm is another great spot for pumpkin picking near Halifax. The farm opens at the beginning of September for apple picking and stays open until the middle of October so you can find that perfect pumpkin for your porch or to carve as a jack-o’-lantern.
In addition to pumpkins, there are plenty of other fun activities to do at Willowbank. Stop in at the animal paddock and see the farm animals, including the new goats, Eloise and Penelope. There’s also turkeys, chickens, ducks, horses, miniature donkeys, pigs and the farm dogs.
Then let the kids burn off some energy at the play area. There are huge crawl-through slides, climbing bars and swings, and a big bouncy castle, plus a ‘haunted hay loft’ in the barn. There’s also a family-friendly corn maze, and on the weekend, there are hay wagon rides. There is a charge for participating in any of the extra activities – info and rates can be found here.
Willowbank is less busy than Noggins, but still has plenty to keep the kids entertained and having fun, making for a fun afternoon drive to the Valley.
