Halifax Ghost Walk

The Halifax Ghost Walk is one of the city’s most popular and enduring ghost tours, attracting both locals and visitors year after year. Often called one of the top Nova Scotia ghost walks, it blends eerie storytelling with the city’s fascinating — and sometimes tragic — history.

With Halifax’s past as a military stronghold, a burial site for Titanic victims, and the centre of the devastating Halifax Explosion, it’s no surprise the city is full of ghostly tales. On this 1.5-hour tour, you’ll begin at the Old Town Clock and wind through the historic streets of downtown. Along the way, you’ll stop at haunted landmarks and old graveyards while hearing stories of restless spirits woven seamlessly with the city’s past.

Guided by Dusty, an excellent storyteller who brings both humour and suspense to the experience, the tour is as entertaining as it is eerie. It’s a fascinating way to learn about the city’s history — and even locals will walk away with new stories to tell.

The tour is perfect for families with older kids (recommended 5+, my kids were 8), but due to the nature of the tour, pets are not permitted.

Cost: $30 adults, $20 youth/student/senior (65+), $15 children (5–12)
